Keith Weber - Evolution Creature Design (All)

Inundatio - planet flooded with scald and only these species were able to survive.

Trelbian – This behemoth of an amphibian produces its own ‘water system’ on an hourly basis, which is the cause of Inundatio’s global flood. Trelbians have an average internal temperature of 1,000 Fahrenheit, the ‘water’ they produce is an endless amount of a boiling liquid that no other specie can survive in. Since there is no other species that can co-exist in this environment, Trelbians’only source of food is their young. Since they can reproduce hundreds of eggs, they wait to eat them after they hatch. Many of the ones that somehow escape being their parents’ meal are able to live within their siblings’ already-built civilization in the branches that grows out of the scalding waters. Their only chance of survival is to eat their own when one of them is dying and to continue to build their homes higher and higher as the Inundatio’s waters continue to uprise. The adults & their children have remained separated as the adults roam in the waters and feast on their young while the surviving children struggle to remain civilized and try not to fall into the waters. This is the cost of living on a one-species planet; without a natural predator, they have no choice but to eat each other.

And then an asteroid impact occurred and changed everything.

Xycron – After a 100,000 years of scalding flood in Inundatio, the Trelbian have evolved into the Xycron. This species dethroned the Trelbian and became the only species in Inundatio, now that they have developed mouths on each hand as this allowed them a greater hunting advantage over their predecessors. The child Xycron still is the parents’ meal when proaching water, but with two strong tongues, its’ able to defend itself against danger. Unfortunately the adults have much longer tongues & are able to catch their children faster than ever before. The adult Xycrons have doubled their rate of liquid production and are able to reach more of them out of waters and into the branches that no longer keep them safe.

Tekkrah – After numerous millennia, the Xycron have eaten their children and oppressed them into the branches above the planetary flood. Little did they know that their children have slowly evolved into the Tekkrah who now have leaves for hair (thanks to the branches that have benefited their evolutionary progress). Their feet have evolved into hands, and they now have four mouths each with long tongues. They no longer have to walk anymore now that their four tongues can lift them from the surface and move them onto new heights and allow them to swim faster. Tekkrahs have overthrown their giant, pre-evolved parents & brought order to Inundatio. To keep the giants from ever appearing again, they make sure that their species is permitted to live to 20 years before the start of puberty. This stops them from causing any more of the liquid that has caused the flood on the ground-plane. Now free from any adult giants, the Tekkrahs have gained wisdom, spirituality, and discipline as they have developed their own culture after living in the branches above the boiling ocean for so long. The Tekkrahs have taken responsibility for the planet and are Inundatio’s hopes to restore life to a nearly dead homeworld.
Sophra - After centuries of self-worshiping and meditation without a grown adult in their planet, the Tekkrahs have the privilege to make their evolutionary step as the Sophra. This final evolution has gained multiple hands that each summon out a tongue.  This being has reached demi-god/deity level of power.  It is completely unstoppable, all-knowing, and all-intelligent.  No being can ever fool the master of all organisms.  As the Tekkrahs have struggled to reach enlightenment, this final process is able to foresee the future, act accordingly and act certainty. The fact that this perfect life-form has reached this many merits there is no need for another stage in evolution. In fact, Sophra is the ultimate measuring stick to what organisms should evolve into.
